On Fedora 6, I have the following services (created by the RPM's): bacula-dir bacula-sd bacula-fd So, in my case, to set bacula-dir to start on boot: # chkconfig bacula-dir on This will set it to start automatically for several run levels (not sure off the top of my head, but 3 and 5 for sure). To disable auto start: # chkconfig bacula-dir off To check the auto start status: # chkconfig --list | grep bacula -----Original Message----- From: bac...@li... While when you manually invoke it, it is running as the correct user. Make sure the scripts being used to start the director deamon have the correct permissions.
