Unknown Object trying to read device parameters for device

I have a problem with the gateway for Devices[index] where index >= 257. I am getting "Bacnet Exception Object:Unknown Object trying to read device parameters for device:.. when I do a discovery"

Is there some limit of 256 virtual devices or maybe a uint8_t? I've been searching since Tuesday with no luck.

Any ideas?
