I'm switching the backup mechanism for a WinXP box to smb (see my rsync woes in the "Inconsistent Errors on Inc/Full backup of WinXP box" thread), but I'm seeing a strange failure. Looking at the badXferLog, it looks like my smb client command is leaving out the host and sharename. (this is true for both incremental and full backups) badXferLog: Running: /usr/bin/smbclient -U schooky -E -N -d 1 -c tarmode\ full -TcN /mnt/backup/pc/svelte/timeStamp.level0 - /data Xfer PIDs are now 14112,14111 INFO: Debug class all level = 1 (pid 14112 from pid 14112) added interface ip=10.0.0.101 bcast=10.0.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Getting files newer than Mon Nov 3 13:41:47 2003 tarmode is now full, system, hidden, noreset, verbose Connection to failed tarExtract: Unexpected end of tar archive (tot = 512, num = , posn = ) tarExtract: Done: 1 errors, 0 filesExist, 0 sizeExist, 0 sizeExistComp, 0 filesTotal, 0 sizeTotal from <backupRoot>/conf/config.pl: <...snip...> $Conf{SmbClientFullCmd} = '$smbClientPath \\\\$host\\$shareName' . I would at least expect slashes there even if the $host and $sharename variables were screwed up somehow. Strangely enough, if I set the method to rsync, the $host variable works fine.... smbclient: Version 2.2.0 thanks, e |
