now I'm confused. when I start a backup on a particular computer and then
go to PC Summary the table at the bottom of the page ("Hosts with no
Backups") lists the computer where the backup was started and it even says
"backup in progress" in the "current state" column. but when the backup is
done, the computer for which the backup was started, nothing appears in the
"Host with good Backups" section. however it does say in the "Hosts with no
Backups" under "Last backup attempt" that backup was made ("backup done").
and if I browse through directories via terminal, I get to see all the
files that were supposed to be backed up.
there are no errors in either BackupPC log directory:
- it says first that user xy requested backup
- that it was started
- and finished.
here's the section of main log file (/backup/log/LOG):
2003/4/10 19:48:28 User mladen requested backup of computer01 (computer01)
2003/4/10 19:48:35 Started full backup on computer01 (pid=11013,
xferPid=11017, tarPid=11016, share=prv)
2003/4/10 19:50:25 Finished full backup on computer01
2003/4/10 19:50:27 Running BackupPC_link computer01 (pid=11034)
2003/4/10 19:50:28 Finished computer01 (BackupPC_link computer01)
and here's a section of log file for computer01 (/backup/pc/computer01/LOG)
2003/4/10 19:48:28 full backup started for share prv (xferPid=11017,
tarPid=11016)
2003/4/10 19:50:25 full backup 2 complete, 79 files, 347798966 bytes,
xferErrs ( bad files, bad shares, 0 other)
2003/4/10 19:50:25 removing full backup 1
I hope this helps, althoug I don't see anything wrong here. what could
possibliy be wrong.
I really appreciate that you're willing to help me out with this problem.
kind rgds,
Mladen
ps: if there are any other files, logs, configuration that you might want
to inspect/would help you with detection of the problem, please let me know
which part interests you, and I'll send it. I really want to solve this
problem, because it has kept me awake for the last two nights.
