I've been using backuppc for some time now, and it runs fine.
Until last night something went wrong with the backupserver and I had to
reboot it using a powerswitch.
It came up fine and everything was working, except that the webinterface
of backuppc suddenly said that 2 pc's didn't have any backups. The other
20 or so pc's were fine. So I looked at
/var/lib/backuppc/pc/<servername>/ for those 2 pc's and saw a whole
bunch of files, including the 12 or so backups I already had made from
both machines. So that puzzled me. Then, at the next hour, a new backup
was made for both pc's, with number 0, and that worked just fine. Then I
looked a little closer and I saw that the
/var/lib/backuppc/pc/<servername>/backups file contained only the new
backup with number 0 that had just been made. So that file was probably
corrupted/deleted with my forced reboot. Is there any way to regenerate
the backups file so the old backups get included again? The backups.old
contains the same info as the backups file, so that doesn't help much.
I'm running BackupPC 2.0.2.
