You probably want it set something like this: $Conf{FullKeepCnt} = [1]; HTH, Jacob |

Hello everybody, I want to know if there exists a way to request features, or some discussion of the layout of BackupPC. As I think there would be several ways to make it much faster using less resources, on both, client and server. Especially on large networks and on sites backing up large files. Let's say its just some general Idea I have in my mind, nothing too detailed. Maybe some supporters are interested... in ideas and discussion? Jan Kellerhoff |

Hi, I have some directories defined in $Conf{BackupFilesExclude}, but they are backup-ed. My config is Contents of file /etc/backuppc/localhost.pl, modified 2005-05-19 09:44:46 # # Local server backup of /etc as user backuppc # $Conf{XferMethod} = 'rsync'; $Conf{TarShareName} = ['/etc','/home/zunbeltz','/usr/local/cvsroot']; $Conf{TarClientCmd} = '/usr/bin/sudo $tarPath -c -v -f - -C $shareName+ --totals'; $Conf{RsyncClientCmd} = '/usr/bin/sudo $rsyncPath $argList+'; #'/usr/bin/sudo $rsyncPath $argList+'; $Conf{RsyncShareName} = ['/etc','/home/zunbeltz','/usr/local/cvsroot/']; $Conf{IncrKeepCnt} = 1; $Conf{CompressLevel} = 9; $Conf{BackupFilesExclude} = ['/home/zunbeltz/manuales','/home/zunbeltz/musika'] I use sudo, because i don't have root acount (ubuntu). I'm quite new to backuppc i don't know how to see why it is doing it wrong. Any idea? hi, i want to know how i can limit the pool size? unfortionately i dont have to much drive space to play with, but what i want to do is replace every weeks backups, so i want to pool to replace itself every week what is happening currently is the pool will grow till it reach max disk space and then none of my backups will work anymore, then i delete the whole pool 100gb and start over - this setup is too dodgy for me,. i would appreciate any help or advice, thank you, and great product winston |

There is an unresolved issue that causes this timer to not be restarted everytime there is client activity. So in some cases it really refers to the entire backup duration, not just the period between client activity. Craig |

Here is this: # Timeout in seconds when listening for the transport program's # (smbclient, tar etc) stdout. So, 7200 seconds are full 2hours. How can it be, that rsync do not make a output in 2hours in a100Mbit lan? So, I would expect then something is going very wrong in my lan, isn't it? No, make it bigger (eg: 72000). Craig |
