Allow four levels of SEARCHTERM:

1. (SEARCHTERM) Same as now; strip all punctuation and numbers and split on whitespace
2. (SEARCHTERM#) Strip only punctuation, not digits, split on whitespace
3. (SEARCHTERM*) No stripping, only split on whitespace
4. (SEARCHTERM!) Take whole field as is
