A new configuration in order to prolong stability of bacdafucup running at all times is being tested. If bacdafucup remains stable for over twenty-four hours, the problem will be assumed to be resolved. bacdafucup from msi has entered its second generation. Version 2 is not built on Version 1, and carries more features. The interface has been improved as well as the operationality. System resources not an issue. Back up quickly and automatically.

It is possible that the current beta version of bacdafucup slows the system. My screensaver is sluggish while it runs. I believe I have corrected this problem by replacing the endless loop, in which the file modification is detected, with subroutine calls based on timers. The subroutine is called 1000 times a second. This should suffice. Other features and bugs have also been addressed. Thanks.

Version 1.2 - beta is tested and without obvious bugs. / Since this is the first news entry, I will detail the usage of this program. / bacdafucup is a background utility for Windows. When configured, it will automatically back up files in selected directories to any type of drive when they are saved by an application and the "Date last modified" property is updated. / bacdafucup has a number of features including alternate back up on failed save, inclusion of subdirectories, run at startup, and optional minimized "Session" window which displays the success or failure of automatic back ups as they occur. The "Session" window does not receive focus when it is shown, so the user may continue to edit her document without interruption when a back up occurs. / Detailed logs are kept of each "Bacup" project, and the "Bacup" projects are easily managed and edited from the main window. / bacdafucup does not show in the taskbar, but has a system tray icon by which the main window, options, help file, and closing the program are accessed.
