AX-Q3Plug / News: Recent posts

Well beta 4 is out. I have put out 2 different installers, one is an online installer which will only work in internet explorer if security settings are set to allow unsigned activex controls to be installed and run. Otherwise use the other installation, which is a standard windows installer.

New in this version is Medal of Honour(honour has a u in it dontcha know): allied attack, serious sam the second encounter, better q3a and rtcw launching, mech warrior 4, and a bit of this a bit of that. ... read more

Ok... After a long weekend of doing absolutely nothing at all, except watching some movies and playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein single player I am now ready to return to work and perhaps even do an axplug update or two. So people look out for beta 4 with *some* new games added to the support list in a few days. Since I have been asked to take over x-plug as well I will take a look through its code base and pick out any features I lack and try to put them into axplug. I will also start watching the forums and the x-plug forums more closely for support requests and *gasp* bug reports. If you guys don't report 'em I can't fix em.... read more

Beta 2 is out, please oh please use the forums and bug tracking system to let me know of any problems. Bugs are my joy in life don't ya know.

Well folks, I've spent the weekend coding and I've decided to completely forgo any more beta 1.x releases and give you Beta2 sometime this week. It will have support for atleast the following: Quake2, Quake3, Unreal Tournament, Half-life, Sin, Kingpin, Soldier of Fortune, Heretic 2, Return to castle Wolfenstien, Star Trek elite forces, Gunman Chronicles, No one lives forever, Serious sam. Well, I sat down determined to get a first beta out the door and it's done. At 4am EST October 10th, 2001 the first Release of AXPlug became official. Have fun with it everyone. Remember it wont improve unless I get feedback feedback feedback. It crashed or doesn't work right? I want to hear about it.

Well folks, I've opened this sourceforge project in order to host all the goodness that will be the port of q3plug http://q3plug.sourceforge.net to an ActiveX control. This port is being done for 2 reasons, 1. fun 2. Internet Explorer 5.52+ dropped support for netscape style plugins thus q3plug doesnt work in them anymore.
