For some systems with large NODE tables it would be
useful to have much better control over the netrom
broadcasts:
1. To be able to set the minimum quality required for a
route to be broadcast on a port by port basis. So that you
don't broadcast the lower quality routes.
2. To configure the pause time between nodes broadcast
frames on a port by port basis. Internet connected ports
could have little or no delay between frames, high speed
radio links a short delay, and slow 1200 baud links a
longer delay.
3. Provide some form of filtering of heard routes, based
on callsign. (like the 'QUALADJUST' system that is in
G8PZT's latest Xrouter).
4. The ability to NOT broadcast route entries, where the
best quality route is via a system on the same port.
I think that all of these things would reduce the traffic
levels generated by a system, especially on slow radio
links.
