#2 Error (Re-try) counters

The one feature that Dos BPQ has which Linux AX25 is
lacking is teh facility to display accumulated
retries on a link.

Just the facility to count & display retries on a
port-by-port basis (rather than the per route
facility in BPQ) would be a tremendous help, allowing
the monitoring of link status, eg. for fine tuning
levels, seeing degredation in antennas etc.

I think that it should be possible to use the error
counters displayed by ifconfig - it's just a matter
of incrementing the correct value each time a frame
is retried.

I realise that this is really a kernel mod, but I
don't know where else to post the suggestion where
the appropriate people may see it.
