Was awstats put in /etc/awstats, /usr/local/awstats, and /var/lib/awstats because it's more standard on UNIX? I'm on Linux and I put things under /opt/awstats, /etc/opt/awstats, and /var/opt/awstats ...
Can anyone provide me with some feedback on this?
Am I supposed to be posting this in the other forum?
There is some standard recommandation to ask to use /opt but there is so few software that use it that this standard is not a standard, so I decided to use same directories than 80% of other tools:
/etc/awstats for config files
/usr/local/awstats for binaries
