Can awstats_misc_tracker.js be loaded asynchronously?

Hi all,

Can I safely add 'async' to the loading of awstats_misc_tracker.js, like so:

<script async type="text/javascript" src="/js/awstats_misc_tracker.js"></script>

or will this change/nullify the functionality of this script?
