Hi *,

i've got a problem with my awstats. Whenever I'm triing to update my stats I
recieve an error which says, the logfile format would be wrong.
But it is definitly a W3C Logfile Format.

Here's the output:

/usr/local/awstats/tools/awstats_updateall.pl now -c /etc/awstats/awstats.www.cib.de.conf
Running '"/usr/local/awstats/wwwroot/cgi-bin/awstats.pl" -update -config=www.cib.de -configdir="/etc/awstats"' to update config www.cib.de
Create/Update database for config "/etc/awstats/awstats.www.cib.de.conf" by AWStats version 6.95 (build 1.943)
From data in log file "/usr/local/awstats/tools/logresolvemerge.pl /mnt/logfiles/cib/W3SVC4/ex*.log |"...
Phase 1 : First bypass old records, searching new record...
Searching new records from beginning of log file...
AWStats did not find any valid log lines that match your LogFormat parameter, in the 50th first non commented lines read of your log.
Your log file /usr/local/awstats/tools/logresolvemerge.pl /mnt/logfiles/cib/W3SVC4/ex*.log | must have a bad format or LogFormat parameter setup does not match this format.
Your AWStats LogFormat parameter is:
2
This means each line in your web server log file need to have "MSIE Extended W3C log format" like this:
date time c-ip c-username cs-method cs-uri-sterm sc-status sc-bytes cs-version cs(User-Agent) cs(Referer)
And this is an example of records AWStats found in your log file (the record number 50 in your log):
2008-01-01 00:02:52 80.218.50.229 - W3SVC4 WEBSERVIX 192.168.108.6 80 GET /css/nichtfuerns4.css - 200 0 521 520 230 HTTP/1.1 www.cib.de Mozilla/5.0+(Windows;+U;+Windows+NT+5.1;+de;+rv:1.8.1.11)+Gecko/20071127+Firefox/2.0.0.11 ASPSESSIONIDSCTRSTQR=ENBNNKADKADDCEKDAIOBIFMK http://www.cib.de/deutsch/products/pdfplugin/cibpdfplugin.htm
Setup ('/etc/awstats/awstats.www.cib.de.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong.
Check config file, permissions and AWStats documentation (in 'docs' directory).

can someone Help me?

Hi,

logresolvemerge is not compatible with LogFormat=2. Use an extensive LogFormat
definition in the place.

Hi,

well LogFormat=2 is IIS Logfile (W3C) and exactly what I've set in my IIS
config.
I'll try with an LogFormat definition, but not all field I want to analyse are
listed. Is there a complete list with all known fileds?

Hi,

if I only analyse a single LogFile with the same settings, it works. But I
won't analyse 900 Logfiles manually.
Any Idea?

This confirms the compatibility issue between logresolvemerge and LogFormat=2.

For details on how to make your own LogFormat definition, refer to the example
AWStats config file provided with AWStats or to my page about the AWStats
LogFormat directive
.
