In our intranet logfile is the actual name of a person in our company who has
accessed our intranet website. I believe I have the log file format correct
however I cannot work out where or how the value is displayed in AWStats? If I
can gather the statistics for this field then where do I see them in my
AWStats? is there an extra plug-in I need?

    thanks in advance

You need to enable the authenticated users section with

    This is the standard solution.

Alternately, if the IP address of the visitor of the intranet is not important
to you, you can use %host for the field containing the name of the visitor.

Note that the %logname field should not contain spaces. Fred Smith (with a
space character between Fred and Smith is not a valid %logname field. A
%lognamequot field is also available (if the log file contains "Fred Smith",
    between quotes).

By the way, I found an "undocumented feature". The value %virtualnamequot is
NOT in the default config file! I only found it mentioned in the change log of
version 6.7 and I have the current version 6.95. It was the parameter I needed
to get my stats working for multiple websites.
