Linav project - linux on the Av3xx

LinAv - linux on the av3xx - is making good progress, it has a working kernel and also a graphical interface with mp3 player, text viewer and some games.
For more info visit linav.sf.net or the project page. There is also the yahoo group linav.
Now the api for coding apps is stable so you can easily contribute. Also feel free to test linav, it just needs a bootloader to be launched.

Bootloader 0.6e released

New version of the bootloader. It looks sleeker, is now all in c, and solves a few bugs of the previous version.
Now has plugin architecture for file types, with plugins available to handle mp3, jpg, rgb, txt files so far.

bootLoader0.4a released!

Yes, it's finally here. The bootloader you have been waiting for. Now you too can play etch-a-sketch.
awksedgrep had a c cross compiler setup, so all you developers who prefer c can start writing progs. He is planning to write a HOWTO on getting the dev environment up soon. Enjoy the bootloader :)

New website

Avos has a new slightly better website! I also did a bit of work to list all the chips we know about so far, along with a few links to datasheers etc on them.
Some cool pictures of the insides of the Archos, and some progress on decoding the firmware update files.

Project started

Hi, just started this project. So far I have worked out some of the file format of the firmware update files. I also know (almost certain) they are compressed, but do not recognise the compression routine/structure yet.
