I see that there are 40 open tickets, some quite old, and none closed. Is this project active?

The project is, but not here. I don't know that the developers ever even look at tickets here. (The zero CLOSED tickets should be a giveaway.)

  Which I know you mentioned in your message. I just meant, it's surprising to me that there are over 40 open tickets, when some date back to 2003 and have never been closed! But it looks like Mean was moving things here at one point a few years ago, so maybe for a time this was meant to be the right place for issue tracking. Didn't seem to catch on, so I still recommend the (quite active) forums instead.
