The Mac M1 has a compatibility mode which allows Intel-based natives to run, and there are also native JVMs available as well. Autoplot runs quite well on the M1 so far, but there are issues and this ticket is to document them.
The Python/Autoplot bridge is broken. JPype is used to bridge Java into Python, but for me JPype fails with Python as I installed it. Using "file <exe>" I can see that they have incompatible architectures.</exe>
