The DataSourceFactory can be queried for its TimeSeriesBrowse capability, but this does not consider the URI. I'm looking at code with an "Experiment with this" comment, and I think returning to this later it seems clear that this is a design issue. For example, a .jyds script might have the TimeSeriesBrowse capability, depending on the script. Likewise the new AggregationDataSource URIs now support wildcards, and may also not have TimeSeriesBrowse.
