It is fully working? Etc. The system is capable of hovering a helicopter and performing slow navigation in a local area, one axis at a time. The single input, single output controllers have difficulty dealing with changing multiple axes at once, so it is best to rotate to a new heading, climb, then translate rather than trying to translate while rotating and climbing. Rotomotion sells all the hardware necessary to build a working autopilot that is compatible with the GPLed software available from autopilot.sf.net. The bare minimum is the IMU kit, magnetometer and an external GPS, although the integrated Rotomotion AFCS package is much easier to use. However, the price puts it out of the range of most hobby UAV builders and more into research groups. Feel free to give me a call at 240 283 1700 if you would like more details on the autopilot system. We could also schedule a flight demo for your show if you are interested.
