AutoHARP 2.0 Released - Upcoming Plans

As of January 1st AutoHARP 2.0 is officially released. It contains a plethora of new changes, mostly with the Combat Tracker. The Combat Tracker now boasts an entirely updated main screen which now displays a panel for each character which includes the character image, health bars for hit points and power points, their initiative bonus, and action. To the right contains a panel where you can adjust each character's critical information on the fly. Vehicle combat has now been added as well as some updates to the maneuver dialog so that it now displays the movement maneuver table information if the player is rolling for a skill. ... read more

AutoHARP 1.0.6 Released - Upcoming plans

I have sent the new files for AutoHARP 1.0.6 to Iron Crown and I have been informed they are up and ready for download on RPGNow.net. This version is more geared towards the new application Architect which is a front end for the databases. I plan to release Architect here soon. There have been some extensive database changes to support Architect's interface and in trying to keep the software consistent. I will supply a change log of updates when I compile them. The biggest changes you will see is that SpellList and Spells have been combined into one file called Spells...xml. The Critical table folder has been removed and those tables combined into one file called Criticals...xml. MagicItems had quite an overhaul and Combat has a new database structure for Weapons. Again, I will supply a change log with the changes... read more

Getting Very close to having a new release

I currently have a release for AutoHARP and Combat Tracker that is ready for release on Windows. I still need to compile and test on Ubuntu. I have compiled documentation for both AutoHARP and the Combat Tracker. I will work on making video tutorials later, but this should help with any questions you might have. The documentation focuses on Harp Fantasy. I plan to add documentation for Harp Sci-Fi however there is a lot of overlap.

Architect is ready to go, but I have some more documentation to write. This should take another week to write up.

This release is something I want to push out sooner than later because it addresses a problem that seems to cause a lot of issues with first time users. With this release AutoHARP will work out of the box.

I will post a change log here soon. I haven't addressed all bugs that have been reported. I realize there were some bugs people really wanted (cantrips). I plan to work on this for a later release. Cantrips is a VERY invasive fix and I want a stable working environment before I work on it.

I will soon focus on finishing up the last of Architect for Harp Sci-Fi XTreme and I will now work out new tools that complete the program so all database information is now accessed and used. I will get into this in another blog.

Hoping a release will happen here in the next few weeks. ... [read more](/p/autoharpsuite/blog/2015/04/getting-very-close-to-having-a-new-release/)

Musings on an NPC Generator

I'll gotten a few people to ask about including an NPC generator: either a random NPC generator or just a wizard which creates an NPC. These are both great ideas, however there is something to mention about both. With a random NPC generator, that will take time. I probably won't get to that until after I finish up the Custom Database Application. In regards to a NPC creator via Wizard, well... that already kinda exists. ... read more

AutoHARP 1.0.5.1 Patch Install

I have made available a 1.0.5.1 patch install which will address an issue with the Harp Sci-Fi Character creation. This is an issue that effects both the Harp Fantasy and Harp Sci-Fi side of things so I highly recommend that all users download the patch and apply it. To patch, follow these directions.

1) Be sure you have the application version 1.0.5 installed and all your databases installed.
2) Download proper patch file to computer. For Linux/Ubuntu users you want the .jar file. For Windows users, you want the .exe file.
3) Run installer.
4) Select the path where your application resides. It will overwrite the applications only, not the databases. This patch contains only the files that are necessary to patch the application. This is why it is necessary to have version 1.0.5 already installed. ... read more

Check List for Version 1.0.6

The first thing to mention is I will now post blogs to SourceForge over posting blogs to Google. I feel as if no one is reading that blog and that it would be better to keep this project in one place over multiple places. I will also try to make more regular updates. Version 1.0.5 has just been released which certainly shows how the application has come a long way from its initial release. But there is still more work to be done. ... read more
