David, I've finally gotten around to getting getting the code to build/compile/run. I changed some stuff around in the Codeblocks project so that it uses global variables for the locations of things - makes it much easier to setup on other computers. Have you made any source code changes? I'll be making some shortly, and because of the RPL license I am required to make any changes available to the community. Do you want to be in charge of that? Or should I "fork" the project? (I would of course maintain...

Crash when "Edit Cyberware" button clicked

  • David Klecker David Klecker posted a comment on ticket #118

Okay. I see it now. This crash is happening because you are clicking on the white space beneath the skills. Unfortunatley you need to be very careful not to click there. Right now the best I can give you is to be careful about where you are clicking during character creation.

  • Mike Benchoff Mike Benchoff posted a comment on ticket #118

I just had another crash while creating the "Human, Nomad, Female, Middle Class, Harper" character. I had spent the very last point (a rank in Endurance), click in the empty white space beneath the skills, and it promptly crash with the same error message.

I'm having a difficult time recreating this bug. Do you have an exact set of reproduction steps? Race? Culture? Profession? I have tried to click the ranks very fast as well. This still goes through. There must be something else going on here. Harp Fantasy? Harp Sci Fi? I've tried both genres and both seem to produce a new character sheet for me. I am also using AH 2.3.1 and Windows 10. Cheers,

  • Mike Benchoff Mike Benchoff posted a comment on ticket #118

It just happened again, this time it was on the first skill screen when I tried to add two points to Thrown Projectile. It may be because I clicked on the up arrow twice in quick succession.

Solved this myself. Try installing AutoHARP in a directory other than Program Files. Apparently when it tries to print the character sheet to .html it overwrites an existing file. Windows doesn't like that and prevents this from happening when in Program Files.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #113

This could also be a factor for where you have autoharp install. If you have installed autoharp in the program files folder then you cannot print any character sheets. Windows 10 has added new security measures which makes it difficult to print from program files. Therefore just move the whole folder of autoharp to the C: drive. To print, you do File->Print to HTML and it will open up the browser with your character sheet automatically. Once there you use Google to print the sheet like you would...

  • David Klecker David Klecker posted a comment on ticket #116

If you talking about Monsters A Field Guide as a book to add to AutoHARP. I haven't added that book so the information is not available for AutoHARP. As it comes to talents. You are right. when adding a monster and trying to add a talent, it doesn't take. It doesn't take the talent name and add it to the xml file. There is a work around here that will get you though this. When you save MonstersFromHarpFantasy.xml located in HarpDatabases and Harp Fantasy, does actually create a place holder for the...

Maybe try running it in compatability mode? That is if you right click and choose properties and choose the compatability tab you can target the kind of OS you want it to run. AutoHARP is required for using Architect. There is no reason to use Architect without AutoHARP as Architect is nothing more than a database builder specifically designed to be used in AutoHARP. It is a a kind of plugin and is installed as such. You need to install Architect in the same folder that you have AutoHARP. This same goes for the Demo.

Again.. very generous of you. The source is now available in the files section of this webpage. If you know C++, wxWidgets is very easy as I am using the C++ version of wxWidgets. The only biggest and time consuming issue is getting the environment setup. It does take time but it's not difficult. I currently use Code-Blocks with wxWidgets as CodeBlocks was written in wxWidgets and works very well and is a very good IDE to boot. I also use Dialog-Blocks which I have purchased. Actually, this is a bug. If I have it inside the XML and no way to update it, then it should have been there from the getgo. Thanks for pointing that out. It was a LOT easier I would imagine for me to just change it as it is more familiar to me. It didn't take long to make this fix. If you give me your email address I will send you an updated Architect that allows you to now enter coordinates.

That is very generous of you. Unfortunately there is not SVN or GitHub repository for AutoHarp. I never had it under any SVN anyways. What I did was archived the code and put that zipped folder on here. This entire application is written in C++ using WxWidgets as a wrapper for the GUI. You would need to set up a wxWidget environment which there is plenty of documentation on their website. I can put the code on this site again since I am still distributing it under the RPL license.

Oh! You are using Architect. I wasn't clear on what application you were using. I assumed the Interstellar Travel app from the Character Designer app itself. Adding new UI to make this change would be an enhancement. I'm sorry I didn't think of it beforehand. This could take time before I get to it.

  • Bruce Carson Bruce Carson posted a comment on discussion Ideas / Suggestions / Enhancements

Why do you have to do everything? If you point me to the source code (SVN or Git, I hope!), I'm sure I can whip something up! It's just Java, right? I'm better with C# - but Java is do-able.

Here's a screenshot in AutoHarp Architect - there is no UI for entering the star's coordinates. Also if a star is added in another book (e.g. House Rules), it does not show up (see 2nd screenshot) Also: The calculation in autoharp for travel distances between stars reports the result as "au", that is an incorrect unit - it should be "ly" (light years). au is strictly for "in system travel".

I honestly have to say that I do not know when I would ever have the time to adjust the UI for Interstellar Travel to keep in sync with Astrosynthesis.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #108

When installing the core application it is necessary to install the databases AFTER. I know this is rather specific but the databases need to be reinstalled after so that everything works. However the fact it only loads one at a time is a problem so let me look into that.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #109

I'm not sure I understand. The UI for Interstellar travel allows you to select a pre-existing place or to enter in your own coordinates between. I do use the equation from the book to calculate the distance between both coordinates entered. So I think I am going to need a little more explanation to go on here. Also to calculate a distance from current location, it should be as easy as putting into the first three boxes your current coordinate and the in the second set of three boxes your destination...
