After running autodefrag as a scheduled task I now get
the message that Defragmenter only supports one
instance. Their is nothing in any of the process lists or
anything to indicate it is actually running though. The
sheduled task log shows it ran to completion and exited
normally. Have you seen this before or know of a fix?

    I noticed that sometimes autodefrag.exe leaves mmc.exe
running, kill that process and defrag will work again.

Anyone know if there is any way of trying to kill that process
    automatically when autodefrag is done?

I haven't experienced this problem yet but it would be great
to make sure that this problem doesn't show up.

    Thanx in advance for suggestions.

To release the program you can kill the process mmc.exe from
the task manager. If autodefrag.exe is listed in the task
manager you have to kill that first, then kill mmc.exe.

you can use the KILL (and the tlist related utility) for killing
proecesses ... but ... how can you know if the defrag has
ended? When you stop defrag manually, you can SEE what's
    happening ...

    (sorry for my bad english)

Not only will it not release, it is not actually running.
If you run it from scheduler it will only run if you are
logged in as administrator. It works fine if you just run
the executable or if you are admin. You can ctrl+alt+del
to task manager and shut down the process mmc to stop it or
right click on the process in task manager and click end
task. It shows that it is running in the scheduler but it
    is not.
