-Welcome to your wiki!
+Welcome to the first draft of the Authorstats project's wiki.

-This is the default page, edit it as you see fit. To add a new page simply reference it within brackets, e.g.: [SamplePage].
+I've wanted to share the statistical scripts I wrote for my own use a while back, and this seemed like the best way to do it.

-The wiki uses [Markdown](/p/authorstats/wiki/markdown_syntax/) syntax.
+My pen name is Ken Haramiru, and I am an independently published author. I write erotica, which is to say that I write pornography with the pictures cut out. But the problems I'm solving - tracking ratings, votes, comments, etc - are universal ones which authors in other genres also face.

+The scripts I've written can work with a variety of sites, and while they are useful at present for my fellow erotica authors, they're probably useful to more traditional authors as well.
+
+I'll try to upload some of my code soon, and then I'll revisit the documentation here.
+
+The main thing my scripts have done is free me from the tyranny of "oh, have there been votes today?" and checking back and forth. Cron is more obsessive / compulsive about this than I could ever hope to be, and runs a handful of small Perl programs which log into websites and snapshot my stories' statistics once an hour. I then wrote a few scripts to perform regular analysis of the data files which the other programs generate.
