This is a version of Audible Alerts that will read aloud the name of a buddy who instant messages you.
Audible Alerts is a plugin for the multi-protocol instant messaging client Pidgin.

In Windows:
Copy the file named "audiblealerts.dll" to C:\Program Files\Pidgin\plugins.
Install the text-to-speech engine eSpeak to the default location. This can be obtained from www.sourceforge.net/projects/espeak.

In the Pidgin buddy list window select Tool-->Plugins, then click the checkbox next to Audible Alerts and the next time someone IMs you you will hear their screen name read aloud to you. Configuration settings allow you to change the voice and choose when to hear the voice.
