Audacity: sound editor 1.3.6 released

Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) is a fast multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix.

The Audacity Team is pleased to announce the release of Audacity 1.3.6 (beta) for Windows, Mac and Linux/Unix. Changes include new capabilities developed by our students in Google Summer of Code 2008 (http://code.google.com/soc/2008/): FFmpeg support, On-Demand Loading, linked audio and label tracks ("Sticky Labels"), and hierarchical plug-in grouping.

Other new features include sound-activated recording, compressed project files, and further MIDI support.

Interface improvements include a new Transport menu, and a new Preference to choose Waveform, Spectrum or Pitch view.

See http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ for details.
