Windows 8 is expected to be released on October 26th: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_8#New_features . The audio system appears near-identical to that for Windows Vista and 7 and I envisage we will advertise support for Windows 8 when released. I don't see any obvious problems for Audacity at the moment in the RTM build. Although I had been told that Audacity tended to freeze in early builds of Windows 8 if launched from the Metro Start Screen, it seems to launch fine now as a "Desktop" app. This thread is just to discuss any problems that may arise. I have Windows 8 Pro 64-bit RTM. I have tried a guest account (no password) and a password-protected local account (not a Windows ID signed account). Can't reproduce the problem.
