I am not willing to exhaustively go through and do point by point comparisons about how git is better or more efficient than svn, especially if any reference I make will be ignored. I've had a better experience with it than svn. It is faster. Merges are cleaner. I don't think it's that hard to learn at all. In response to Vaughan Johnson, I did not see the recent version control change that audacity went through. If our efforts and resources are better spent on features and bugs for future releases then cool. I can agree with that. I do want to keep this git discussion in mind though as another option.
