Per my other e-mail, I did not remove the "beta" for this release as I
did for 1.3.11 because I understand Richard needs this tarball 
naming(?).

What do you mean by "link from news"? The links to 1.3.12 on the front
page all work. 1n Linux Ubuntu the download box says "Download 
1.3.12 (Beta) for Windows(R), Mac or GNU/Linux" as per normal and 
goes to:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
