It's more like carelessness - Audacity doesn't have any code using taglib, so it shouldn't have been either shipped or configured in the first place. There is an intention to use taglib for metadata import/export, but the code isn't there (I've just checked there are no includes of the header files and no references to the USE_TAGLIB pre-processor define in the audacity source). This isn't going to make it in to this release, but I have made locally the relevant change not to ship or test for taglib until and unless someone writes the code to use it (this would be trivial to revert when needed). Audacity's configure script needs to be regenerated with autoconf after this patch is applied. Richard |
