| Subject: [Audacity-help] Can't Download
| I am trying to download audacity 1.2.6 and it's not working. When
| I click, I get a blip sound and nothing else.
Do you really mean you can't download Audacity, or do you mean you can't
launch Audacity once you've installed it? Or do you mean you have launched
it and tried to import a file, but all you hear is a blip of sound?
When downloading from the Audacity site you need to be connected to the
internet, you need to left-click the download link (not right-click over it), and
you may need to disable any third party download managers you may have
that try to grab the download instead of the browser. If you are still having
download problems, please go to this page
and choose the download of 1.2.x you want according to what operating system
you are on. You can right-click those links if you wish.
If the problem is that you have installed Audacity and cannot play an imported
file, you may have to convert the file to WAV or AIFF (or burn it to a CD and
extract the CD track to WAV or AIFF) before you can import it into Audacity.
If this is the problem, please tell us what operating system you are on (e.g.
Windows XP, OS X 10.4, and if you are on OS X, whether you have an Intel Mac
or Power PC). Then we can give you more help if you need it.

| trouble connecting to the server.
This one is working fine as I write:
Please disable any download manager you have before downloading.
Please make use of the Reference documentation provided in the program
