I think more usual default behaviour with media editors is to read direct, especially with video editors, and I'm not sure why so many users move / delete their source files. My very slight balance of feeling is that it might be best to leave the default as "read directly", but I'm easy either way. If we don't change, then we should try and make the dependencies dialogue clearer, and make it harder to accidentally not copy in. However we have had the dependencies dialogue for some time now in 1.3, and I don't actually recall anyone using 1.3.3 still managing to lose their audio. Gale Outbound message virus free.
