OK, did a bit of reading, and there are two discrete macros, one for enable / disable features (AC_ARG_ENABLE), and one for optional packages (libraries) (AC_ARG_WITH). We didn't seem to have too much of a distinction, so I've made all the optional features that don't pull in libraries (like debug, ladspa, audio units and so on) use AC_ARG_ENABLE, so they show up in the optional features bit of the --help output. The libraries are all be done with AC_ARG_WITH, and in principal can support arguments of "system" or "local" to select which library is used. To set what is used as a default, you can use --with-lib-preference=. This isn't very clear in the --help output, but hopefully it is a bit better. Many of the other help messages have been re-done to make them more uniform and clearer. I've also re-arranged the order of various bits so that the help stuff groups better - hope this doesn't break anything, but yell if it does. Am I right to think that unicode is set to whichever is the default wxwidgets installation (i.e. whichever you get from wx-config without an option)? I've never specified it to audacity, but I've always had to set WX_CONFIG to a specific 2.6 config file because I have 2.4 in the path not 2.6. Help text needs updating. Richard |
