SourceForge.net is preparing significant changes to the project shell and web servers: https://sf.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1109940&group_id=1&atid=350001 Most of these changes don't affect us, or are nice upgrades. However, there are some that affect our web site: * Cron (which was disabled a few months ago) will be re-enabled with certain restrictions. Our old translation update system used cron. We can now implement a similar system for the new web site. * PHP and CGI scripts can no longer write to files in the website directory. This means that our download logs will stop working unless it is updated to use a different location. For now I simply disabled our logging code, since our downloads now use the sf.net mirror system, which keeps its own statistics. * Web applications can't send e-mail. (This change has already been made.) We will need a patch for Bugzilla if we want it to be able to send e-mail. I've taken all of the steps that should be immediately necessary. In the longer term, we should look at setting up new systems for updating translations and other files, and getting Bugzilla to send e-mail again. |
