* don't have enough computer resources and/or
* don't have DMA enabled and/or
* (assuming you are recording into the computer's inbuilt
sound device) you need to update the drivers of that
Plus, ME is by common consent the most buggy OS that
Microsoft ever came up with.

not a USB hub.
