I'm trying to install Audacity on my Red Hat 8.0 box. Here's what
[root@... root]# rpm -i audacity-1.0.0-2.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libogg >= 1.0rc3 is needed by audacity-1.0.0-2
libvorbis >= 1.0rc3 is needed by audacity-1.0.0-2
libvorbisenc.so.0 is needed by audacity-1.0.0-2
libvorbisfile.so.0 is needed by audacity-1.0.0-2
Ok, this isn't too hard to understand, except that the libogg and
libvorbis packages ARE installed (and they are >= 1.0rc3). I also tried
to just compile the source code and I get this:
checking for wx-config... no
configure: error: "Could not find wx-config: is wxWindows installed? is
wx-config in your path?"
Help, anybody? I'm itching to try recording some guitar...
you don't have the wx-config in your usual PATH for
$ find /usr/ -name wx-config
$ find /usr/ -name "wxgtk-*-config"
what are the results ?
