It seems that only short WAV files can be imported as tracks:
longer ones, even lasting less than 5 minutes, get truncated.
It is surprising as Audacity already has the ability to handle
long WAV files: e.g. i managed to record over 10 minutes
of complex music from analog input.
Audacity is so perfect (flexible and resilient, though the latest
1.2pre3 is said not to be in final version) that i wonder:
is there a parameter (display, truncation) or something obvious
that i may have missed to manage to import 50MB WAV files ?

I'm using Win XP Home, Audacity 1.2.0-pre3 and regularly export 200MB or
larger WAV files. And open WAV files of that size. Are you talking about
File|Open, or Project|Import audio? I am able to do both.
