I'm Petri Vuorio, a music student from Finland (graduating this year). I also
teach music technology, mainly notation (Finale and Sibelius). My courses
include an introduction to digital audio too, and Audacity belongs to those
lessons. It's a really powerful program, but still easy to use!
I think computer programs should be easy to use and one important thing is that
they support user's native language. Because I haven't seen any sign of Finnish
localisation for Audacity, I wanted to do something about it and started to
translate the program myself. The translation is now almost complete and I
think it's ready for public testing. I hope there isn't much errors.
Only few strings referring to AvcCompressor are untranslated. I couldn't solve
their exact meanings because I didn't find them in the program (1.2.0 final for
Windows). Perhaps AvcCompressor isn't there yet, or am I just blind?
Additionally, I made an installer (using NSIS) for Windows users. The installer
easily copies the language file into the right location and sets the installed
language as default. Again, to make the user's life a little bit easier...
