I'm having problems importing wav files over the school network.
The files have been previously recorded in Cool Edit (44100, 32 bit) but
when I import them into Audacity they are totally distored with a huge
clipped wavwform. This is the same whatever the original recording level in

Audacity 1.0 cannot read 32-bit wav files. The best solution is

If you'd like to test out some newer code, Audacity 1.1.0 can read
32-bit files. However, it is beta quality and not as stable as 1.0.
