I've attached a Nyquist plug-in, info.ny, which appears as 'Tone Generator
with optional information display' in the generate menu.
there are five edit fields . The first 4 deal directly with tone
generation - waveform, frequency, amplitude and duration. The fifth edit
field is a string input field in which the user can type in one or any of
the numbered edit field, such as 1 3 4, to get information about those
edit fields/what that edit field 'does'.
If no numbers are entered into this edit field, the plug-in operates as
usual, working with sound.
Whether this would become the way to display information in a Nyquist
plug, or via something arun, Dominic or someone else writes in a future
version of Nyquist, this answers a long-standing question in my mind - how
to get useful information to the user when he/she doesn't have (or doesn't
want to look up somewhere else) pertinent information.
Thanks for reading this!
