Hi there Back to the 'Release Checklist'... I've had a look at the 'Welcome screen external links...' problem and think I have made some improvements/fixes: Please note that the Wiki: links should have underscores in the names, not spaces - it may or may not work otherwise! Space are not allowed in URLs but some systems compensate for it, others don't, (or do it differently) I suspect. I have tried to track down all these and change them. The detection of IE and correction of the links didn't work before, due to capitalisation, but it does now, at least as far as I have tested (IE 7.0, 6.0, 5.5 and 5.01, using http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE). Earlier versions still don't work but that's far enough isn't it? It's even popping up whichever browser I have as default on top of everything else, for me! Anybody see any remaining problems? Martyn PS I had to go through the pain of looking at IE in it's incarnations back to 5.01, it wasn't good! |

If you have IE7 installed and it now works I think that's the main thing. Although those standalone browsers render pages as per the version they are supposed to, in other ways they still behave as per the installed version of IE: if you have IE7 installed and run standalone IE6, Help > About in "IE6" will still show IE7. In other words, with 1.3.4, the links wouldn't work in the IE 6 standalone with IE7 installed, only if IE6 was the core installed version. Are the LAME buttons OK too, and can someone check now on Mac and Linux? Thanks Martyn Gale |
