On Windows and Mac with a newly initialised .cfg, if you import FLAC
via File > Import > Audio and choose "FLAC files", it comes in via
libflac and is copied into the project. On Windows (unknown on Mac),
libsndfile ignores FLAC even if you set up an extended import rule
for *.FLAC which places WAV top of the importers list.
On Ubuntu under the same File > Import > Audio conditions, FLAC is
taken by libsndfile and brings up the dialogue for importing
uncompressed audio files, so you get the option to read the data
directly or copy it in. FLAC has an additional export option under
"Other uncompressed files" which is lacking on Windows.
Is this a historical difference from the time we had issues with libflac,
so that libsndfile was the only way you could work with FLAC? Do we
want this disparity now?
