Another stable version of wx was released! It looks like a modest
upgrade over 2.6, but there are several new features that we might
find quite useful. In particular, Mac and GTK gain a few new
capabilities that would let Audacity look more like a native app on
Definitely worth looking into. I'm compiling it now and I'm going to
try out the sample programs.
Also, good news - Sourceforge finally fixed their download system so
you don't need to pick a mirror! I think this happened in the last
week. That should help with a common complaint.

My prayers have been answered at last. Honestly, the new system is so=20
much less intimidating for the general user. Anyway, as you now=20
don't have to select a mirror, but still have to left click and beware=20
those download managers, could I suggest a rewording on the four=20
download pages (i.e. Stable and Beta for Windows and Mac) something=20
"Please left-click on the download links (not right-click and "save link as=
or "save target as=85" ) then your download should start immediately. If it=
not, you will be able to click on a direct link to the file, or choose an a=
"mirror" (i.e. another link hosting the same download). If you get a corrup=
invalid download, please disable any download managers you may have then tr=
again by left-clicking on the link you require.=20
