Okay, I'm trying to get a new build of Audacity CVS to work. I'm running the
default kernel under Fedora Core 4, running KDE. It doesn't seem to matter
if artsd is running or not, or if I run Audacity with artsdsp or not.
Audacity consistently crashes to the desktop.
% wx-config --version
% ./configure --with-portaudio=v19 --without-portmixer
% su -c "make install"
Audacity runs. I can run Help | About Audacity to confirm it's "1.3.0-beta",
but when I try to enter File | Preferences, I get an immediate crash to the
desktop with the following errors to the console:
(audacity:24681): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_accel_label_new: assertion `string !=
(audacity:24681): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_misc_set_alignment: assertion
`GTK_IS_MISC (misc)' failed
(audacity:24681): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_add: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET
(audacity:24681): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_accel_label_set_accel_widget: assertion
`GTK_IS_ACCEL_LABEL (accel_label)' failed
Any suggestions? Is this something about Unicode? I always "export LANG=C"
in my bash profile because I like to be able to actually read man pages and
get ls to sort files "correctly".
By the way, this is with gcc4, in case that makes a difference.
