I dind't touch anything but the fixes I've done, so I think the cause of that is what Gale said.

It looks as if this happened when I updated it.po from the
latest audacity.pot in r11422, which was from a fresh checkout
of the tree:

but this translation loss did not happen for some languages such
as Japanese:

Michele, there were many changes between the current it.po
file and yours, due to removing the "" at the top of multi-line
strings. Are you able to say which couple of strings you fixed?
