Yes, true, but feedback from sighted people about the sliders
in EQ is not wholly positive.

I wonder if it is possible to use a mouse method but with a linked
text box or pair of boxes that showed the zoom co-ordinates?

I'm sure you could have some text boxes, but my guess is that they wouldn't be as usable as the sliders for keyboard users.
