hi gang

i just got a new sound card a soundblaster product...it seems to be more powerful that the
on board sound card i used.its got both a line in and a mike in instead of just a mike in.
ok heres the problem..even when i put the mike slider all the way to the right i still cant get
that mush power into audicity.i have the "line in"showing in that little drop down window.wh-
at else can i do?thanks.

If you want to extract a song off the CD, then in CDex, right-click
over the song name, and choose one of the "Extract" options. Then
you have an audio file you can import into Audacity without needing
to record anything.

If you are trying to record from a record player, you need to
connect the record player to an amplifier, the amplifier to line-in,
then set Audacity to record from line-in:
