I'm finding that some, but not all, of my labels are not "sticky"
when you hover the cursor near the label point, you don't get
the yellow guide marker

This too appears to be moonphase and inconsistent/

Testing on W7 Home Premium SP1 - Toshiba Satellite laptop.

I confirm David's report, I too sometimes just get a task button
rather than a full on-screen launch, clicking on the button launches
the app onto the screen ok.  However this is moonphase, I can
ascertain no pattern.

Apart from that I have been giving 20.05 RC1 a thorough workout
through my two major workflows and all seems well.

1)  TT=>Edirol UA-1EX soundcard=>PC with host set to WDS
LP recorded fine and subsequent processing (including 32-bit export
for processing through ClickRepair and re-importing into Audacity) to
production WAVs went fine.

2) Onboard Realtek soundcard - host set to WASAPI loopback
recording from dublincityfm.ie  also recorded fine and subsequent
processing to extract a few tracks from the show to export as WAVs
all went fine.

3) I deliberately "crashed " an open Audacity project with Task Manager
restarting Audacity recovered the project properly - temp files deleted
properly on exit.

4) I also repeated the recent tests, same audio clip, that I did for Leland
when we had clicks/bumps at 5.5 second intervals - recorded properly
with no clicks/thumps.

All builds are posted at
https://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/list?can=2&q=%272.0.5rc1%27.

Please test away.

I've had a look at the installed version on windows 7 and 8, both 64bit.

There's a problem on starting audacity:
- on windows 8, on starting audacity I either get just a taskbar button and no window, or a taskbar button and a window which isn't the focus.
- on windows 7, initially I just got a task button, but after a few more goes, audacity opened normally.

David.
