By anchored layout I mean having the positions of some of the nodes (let's call them anchors) fixed while applying a layout algorithm.
Of course, a similar behaviour can be achieved by extracting a subgraph containing all but anchor nodes, and applying the layout algorithm only to it. But in that case the edges between anchors and the other nodes will not be taken into account, and the result will be rather ugly.
If the anchored layout could really take into account the positions of the anchors while laying out the rest of the nodes, it would be great.
