    TiggerFan - 2011-12-08

sorry but i was playing with other things today and installed winamp. after
that i couldn't start atunes, i always get "no player engine found", and it
hangs with the splash screen till i kill the process. I rather have atune then
winamp so i deinstalled winamp and rebooted and i've reinstalled atunes after
that and i'm still getting "no player engine found". Any clues how to fix are
    welcome.

Here is the atunes log file after killing the process:

It's not related to winamp, it's related to downgrade to 2.1.0

Just remove C:\Documents and Settings\user\AppData\aTunes and try again. That
    should solve the problem.

as silly as it sounds, but if you don't have MPlayer installed, it will show
you the same "no player engine found". Ubuntu Software Center->Mplayer-
Install... done! now it's working fine.
